If you follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram you've probably seen us post the past few weeks about taking Henri Rose in a new direction. Henri Rose began with the intention to make a life changing impact in the lives of women who have been trafficked or live in areas where they are vulnerable to trafficking. We started with handmade home decor products, and set up a process to lend 15% of our profit towards funding micro loans to women who have been sexually exploited. Since we began, we have been able to support a small number of women in a sewing collective through the Nashville Non-Profit Freedoms Promise.
As Henri Rose grew and we gained support for our mission we started to grow out of Freedom’s Promise. In order to better support the lives and dreams of trafficking survivors, we have decided to pivot our business model. Starting this month Henri Rose will partner with a sewing center in Cambodia, where the women will use their previously learned sewing and screen-printing skills to create luxurious sleepwear for women.
Switching from home decor to sleepwear was an easy choice for us. Above all else Henri Rose seeks to empower women and create freedom in their lives through purposeful income generation. We chose sleepwear because it encompasses both the women’s sewing and screen-printing skills in a unique and fresh way. Sleepwear that empowers both the women who wear it, and the women who make it seemed like a no brainer. Our pajamas fill a need for high quality, handmade sleepwear with a purpose.
In August we will launch a Kickstarter Campaign to fund the making of our pajamas and we are looking for as much help as possible. Please donate to Henri Rose and share our cause with your friends. Our beautiful new pajama line will help women in Cambodia start beautiful new lives. We are excited for the new adventure and we hope you are as well.
